FENCED is a feature documentary film that explores human boundaries and our relationship to land. Filmed across the US, each community, landscape, or creature introduces complex histories and present-day realities cemented by fences. These everyday structures are our lens for unearthing the intricacies of how we divide ourselves, assert control over land, and navigate our relationship with the non-human, natural world. Told through verité footage, choreographed scenes, and archival interludes, the film moves from the granular and personal to the expansive and systemic and back again—pulsating between characters and places.
Currently in production, our film is supported by Sundance Institute and Adobe.
